I don't think he should be there. Probably not fully fit and was shocking in the match yesterday, only made two. Would rather have McIntosh.
Ian Butler
Our replacement for Bond, only a bit slower, inconsistent line and length. We don't have much depth in fast bowlers so he is the next best thing.
Chris Cairns
Can't complain here.
Robbie Hart
 Why not McCullum? McCullum is a better keeper and better with the bat aswell.
Richard Jones
Only included as cover for Fleming, like I said, would rather have McIntosh.
Craig McMillan, Jacob Oram, Mark Richardson, Scott Styris, Daryl Tuffey, Daniel Vettori
Good, good
Lou Vincent
NO! They can't be serious. This guy is a loser. What the hell is he still doing in the team? He is useless, absolutely pathetic. James or Hamish Marshall over him anyday.
Paul Wiseman
Wouldn't think our pitches are suitable for a spinner. Jeff Wilson should be there over him. Two 5 wicket bags in two 4 day matches. Wholy crap, where is Goldie?

 It's catching on! :D

But seriously, the Marshall boys are not what you want, they are just as bad. For tests McIntosh and Jones are better options.

Looks solid. The Kiwis could be doing what we did with Mark Taylor a few years back, and select him purely on his captaining abilities, with the hope that he will soon get back into form with the bat.

I think Vettori should do as a spinner, like as you said, the Kiwi pitches are not that conjucive to spin... they're seaming wickets. I have heard that Jeff Wilson is playing well, but maybe it is too soon to put him back in... but then again, he was quite a good bowler from what I could remember before he played rugby - maybe the Kiwis need all the strikepower they can get their hands on at the moment, with Bond out. As long as it's not Andre Adams... he really is not up to international standard (for now anyway).

Looks like Astle is still injured, because he would have been one of the first picked IMO. I'll join the Lou Vincent Hate Club, even though I haven't seen him play for a while... he must be rubbish if he is getting all of this stuff written about him. Never liked him as a player anyway.

I would have stuck with McCullum too... adds a bit of steel to the batting lineup.

What about Sinclair? Or is he rubbish too now?

Goldie is a superb athlete, He has been bowling very well his speed has been good ( late 130's) for our pitches.
He is also a more than handy batsman rather than the tail ender type slogger that we have tended to go with in the past.
He also has a season bowling average of 14, Has got 2 5 wicket bags in 3 bowling innings.

I say give Goldie a bloody go too. He's a freak. Don't worry about picking him too soon, he's used to the big stage. He'd be up to it. Robbie Hart sucks, Our cousin Vinny sucks, and Wiseman sucks too. Butler I'm happy with, I think he's ok. No Bondy by a long way though.

I'd have him over Vincent any day. Sinclair still has an average well into the 40s (I think???). He and Vincent are both flat-trackers, but Sinclair is better.

Of course that would leave us an opener short, although I'd probably prefer this

McIntosh
Richardson
Sinclair
Fleming
(drop Oram)

To this
Vincent
Richardson
Fleming
