im after a song title of a dance song thats out now. its based around a riff from a 70'/80's i think australian rock song and its chorus goes something like 'its the weekend gonna have a litle fun with my friends'. i dont much care for the dance song but i noticed that riff and i want to find out the original

Yeah I did read it and I just have no idea what it really is.
Unfortunately those lyrics did pop that song in my head and misery loves company.

Is it possible it's Summer In The City by The Livin Spoonful?

I know I've seen a beer ad recently with a remix of that on it.

The only popular Aussie song from the 70's that I could think of which might even be close is Friday On My Mind by The Easybeats. But I can't imagine a dance remix of it.
