1. Gidley (c) - face the facts, he won't be dropped even though Hayne is the better #1
2. Hayne - NSW most dangerous player
3. Jennings - back to form, x-factor in the centres needed to crack the Queenslanders
4. Cooper - great defensive centre and a good finisher. Just what you need in SOO.
5. B Morris - combination with Cooper and Creagh has been great for the Dragons and will bring stability to the NSW defence
6. Campese - deserves another go after being the scapegoat for the Game 1 loss
7. in order of preference: Mullen/Barrett - look to the future NSW with Mullen, or go for Barrett, who has been NSW's best playmaker this series and took GI out of Game 2
8. Poore
9. in order of preference: Ennis/Farah - Farah hasn't been stood out in Game 2 and I wouldn't be averse to him being retained, but Ennis to me seems the type of player to flourish in SOO. And, the Warriors could beat a Ennis-less Dogs team too (haha I am dreaming).
10. Kite - nothing better, Kite is capable, but would have preferred Bailey/Weyman, who are both injured
11. Hindy - Hindy has been great on a losing team this season. His attack isn't great but it's underrated. Defensively, he will seldom miss tackles and will make the desperate tackles. Hoffman is an unlucky omission here.
12. Creagh - See Hindy. Supposedly the guy isn't a great attacking player, but he has been dangerous so far with good speed and ability to get the unload away. Combo with Cooper and B Morris will solidify one side of NSW's D.
13. G Stewart - hasn't reached the heights of 2008, but a gritty player who won't let anyone down.
14. Wing - dynamic in Game 1 in limited time and fits what NSW were trying to do all along - expose QLD's supposed lack of mobility.
15. TLL - think the man deserves his chance. Been playing like a man possessed of late with a new baby son (?) and a new contract to boot.
16. Watmough - was one of NSW's best in Game 2, deserves another run
17. Waterhouse - finally playing on the level that made him and the rest of the Panthers such a scary team circa 2003 and 2004. He's been playing out of his mind for Penrith of late.
So there it is - perhaps I should have named a 2nd prop on the bench instead of one of the second-rowers.
