It is the atmoshpere and the bowlers actions that causes the ball to swing, not the pitch. Hence the ball swings more in a more dense atmosphere, like higher relative humidity.
With Bracken's action he tends to bowl across the right handed batsman, and only swings the ball in whan he modifies his action slightly, which he does with the white ball. If he modifies his action too much, the batsman can pick the inswinger.
To swing the red ball he has to modify his action even more. I'm sure that they are all working on this at the moment, as he seems to have a future inplaying for Australia. He has said that he bowls around the wicket to contain the batsman, rather then try to get them out, although he still tends to move the ball away when he bowls around the wicket.
BTW the quicker we get rid of these batsman friendly drop in pitches, the better we will be.
Any way, this is not the cricket forum, so its good to see the boy from the Blue Mountains is an Eel supporter, and I hope he gets over his injury very soon.
