What was that, like 3yrs ago? Are the Walker boys and their out of the box coaching still a thing?

There is a reason everyone plays a bit the same. RL is a simple game, I'm all for innovation and teams having their own style but the fundamentals that you gotta build that style around remain the same.

They are still around and so is their contract football.
I don't think it is necessarily a scheme that will make a below average team suddenly a big time contender. But if they have charge of a talented squad they will win and entertain the living f**k out of NRL fans that have been deprived of entertainment under this "Bellamy Ball or nothing" era.
There are alternatives to this goat f**k of a style all the clubs play now. Ive got to keep believing that.

The team they had was completely dismantled.
Parcell - Manly, now SL
Carlin Anderson went to Brisbane I think
K Capewell - Cronulla
Cleeland - Bulldogs
Rod Griffin - Tigers - Bulldogs
to name a few.

Their playing style was very much suited to the players they had. Being a second tier team, any success they had was destined to be short lived.

IF (it's a big if) they could assemble a team to match their style, they could be successful again. Pretty tough to do in the salary cap era.

Last I heard they were looking at taking their off-the-cuff philosophy on league coaching to other vocations... I'm sure I read somewhere they were now looking at performing heart surgery with nothing more than a knife and fork, some dental floss and a bottle methylated spirits....

You throw out aspersions that people are stupid for believing Rothfield (who I incidentally have neither read nor heard anything from on the entire thing) but are happy to take Peat's comments as gospel.

So in you opinion, Neil Henry will be sacked soley because Jarryd Hayne does not like him.

Peats' comments are classic PR before they play a game tomorrow night. Its up there with "the coach has the full backing of the board"

I agree on the Rothfield comment.

But as I said, I've not seen or heard anything from Rothfield on the issue.

I hate newscorp as much as the next guy. But if the standard that anything that is reported from them should be discounted that is going to kill off a lot of discussion. Their papers are rags, but it doesn't mean everything they have ever reported should be discounted including from Rothfield.

Also you're main argument was Ash Taylor does not have differences with Henry. In a sense supporting narrative that is Hayne being a coach killer.

Graham Annesely has said there are more issues that have to be resolved then just between Hayne and Henry.
