No he hasn't, There was an article in the ODT earlier this year saying that if he doesn't make the All Blacks by the 2007 world cup he will play for Samoa.

Plus he is more of a second five, Brew plays centre for Otago and the Highlanders.

Apologies, he played for the PI team in 2004.

Bottom line is he is not good enough, yet, to be an All Black. Hopefully he keeps improving and developing because I see him as the perfect build for a 12.

I thought Ali had grown another leg over the last year the media couldnt seem to get enough of the guy. He was coming across as a guy that has matured into a good senior AB.

Absolutely right on all counts there, but not an All Black captain.

i think he will get there one day, he,s still pretty young.
he was a bit of a worry in mitch's day but the best thing to happen to ali was graham henry.

chris jack is a bit ancient isnt he ?

12. McAlister
13. Smith
Nonu should never be allowed near second five again, excellent centre but he is not a distributer. Nonu would be suitable for a bench spot.
McAlister suits Smith's all round game unlike Aaron Mauger who is hardly the most consistant All Black.
McCaw should be captain but im not sure who would fill in as vice captain.

Im not sure I would have McCaw as captain the guy spends more time off the field each season than on it with the head injuries he keeps getting

Who else have we got then?
Oliver - Melamu should be first pick hooker.
So'oialo - No.
Melamu - Has never captained Auckland or Blues, that's a huge risk.
Williams - Ditto.
Collins - NO!
Mauger - McAlister wouldve of been first choice second five for the grand slam but got injuured. Mauger is far too inconsistant at International Level.
Carter - Why put extra pressure on the best play maker in the world?

Care to elaborate on the "no" answers?

Hmmm, Jerry Collins isnt the best public speaker.
There is no chance in hell that somebodys who mumbles through his sentences is going to be captain of the national side.He has no chance of being All Black captain & ive been a Wellington fan since before i was even walking.
I think Kaino will be pushing for So'oialo's spot this year, I think he has far more potential than Rodney has.Kaino should of been in the Grand Slam Tour touring party.

Then again, I also think Rodney has great potential as a leader.
He has been a inspirational captain for the Lions over the past 2 years, I think he'll grow more with the leadership role for the Canes.

Ah ok, I admit I haven't really seen Jerry interviewed that often.

Lol, where did he say that? I'd suspect he was taking the piss....

Mind you did anyone else see the interview where they asked Dan Carter for his pet hate?
"Aww mate I don't really hate any pets, they'rer all nice!"
Nice bloke, but there's definitely a bit of Christian Cullen in that comment!!

lol I can't believe how wrong that is. Collins is pretty much the only person in NZ rugby with any personality. He is constantly having a laugh and taking the piss. Great character imho.

Jerry Collins is honest and hard nosed. New Zealanders don't like that. We are a sad country!!
