To make it an even number I would add Adelaide to the base teams. That was the game becomes more wide spread across the country.

But the ARU have indicated several times that Adelaide will be the final place expansion happens.

I think there should be 3 teams from both Sydney and Brisbane (open franchises up to the existing club rugby teams if needed), one from Canberra, and 5 regional teams.

That makes 12 teams, which should be enough.

I was reading in the Sun Herald that the Waratahs don't really the support the concept, but don't want to upset the applecart - to the point where they are not going to associate the Waratahs with the comp... they will call themselves by another name.

have a big comp like Currie cup and NPC have some kind of mergers type thing, like Manly, Warringah and Northen Suburbs join together.

having a 4 team comp will do jack all....
