New Melbourne Stadium

The NRL has access to good stadiums in Sydney and if the SFS was used by 4 teams like the MCG, it would likely be upgraded more often because it would generate more income.

The SFS has 4 tenants. NSW Waratahs, West Tigers, Sydney Roosters and Sydney FC. With the odd finals game being played there as well.

This NSW Govt is the worst. They better not commit to the redeveloped showground for GWS, because they are going and there is no way that money should be spent on that white elephant.

He's not talking about multiple tenants from different codes, he's talking about one code consolidating its teams into one or two venues.

Whats the difference really? The NRL needs a decent 40K ground in the West, even if it was to be located at Homebush. I am sure that we would see at least 3 teams play the majority of there matches there, with others bringing there big matches to that ground. Plenty of things happening at Homebush now for after the match, and with a few more complexes going up, there should be more nightlife available. So really the NRL should be the ones pushing for a redevelopment of the showground, not the AFL.

I love the stadium, was just unbelievable to watch a game of footy at... so close!

I didn't go Friday but I think the massive crowd (that won't happen too often) and appalling weather conditions have clouded a few peoples opinion. Today's weather was perfect, crowd was comfortable and atmosphere was amazing. Going to love watching footy there.

It'd be interesting to have another NRL-friendly stadium (the Showground in its current state simply isn't) at Homebush Bay... having said that, is the RAS really prepared to lose its second showground in 15 years?

Be even better with a victorious result by a legal team too I imagine

A win is always a better result obviously. But we are Melbourne Storm supporters who support the TEAM and will stick by them in every game we play in.

The smugness of some people who are meant to be die-hard RL supporters, sticking the boots into Melbourne supporters is disgraceful. If you think going back to a two-state comp plus NZ is the best way to grow the game you seriously have no idea.

I do not want to rain on the parade, but i hated it.

The playing surface and the seating was the best i have been too, i wish the storm all the best.

The facilities were quiet simply the worst i have ever seen from any footy ground. There was no toilets, in fact after waiting half an hour to see the toilet, there was room for 8 men standing at the urinal. The place leaked like a sieve, and there is absoulutly no reason for it. 31 thousand people were expected, the company involved with the marketing should be looked at.

I was bitterly dissapointed with the whole out of ground experience, as i say the ground itself (which is the most important) was fantastic. But the other parts of the stadium that matter most to the fans that have to go each week, was border line pathetic.

Not sure if you need glasses or not.. but theres plenty of toilets..
But yes.. the lines to the toilets were long in the Mens.. which was pretty odd.. id say they had a record amount of booze sold that night.. might have something to do with it

Food and bar areas where unreal i thought.. i havnt seen any other stadium do it anybetter.. Have a good range of healthy food also.. salids and what not..

Great Stadium.. your just a whinger

Thing to keep in mind about the queues on Friday, the Stadium was full. Any Stadium at full capacity will have lines, the size is irrelavent (plus theyll get more effiecient with time). At 20K yesterday everything was a breeze.

I went on Friday night and had no complaints either.

Public transport couldn't be easier.

The view is the main thing and you couldn't fault it.

The seats were fine and definately more leg room than at Homebush.

No problems with the toilets, 2-5 min wait max.

Coaster may have been lining up for the ladies, as he sounds like a whinging bitch.

Food and drink outlets were standard and didn't have to line up too long for them either.

No problem with outside the ground either, as it's only a 5 minute walk back into Richmond for all the pubs you could want, unlike Robina where you walk out into a wasteland.

Could have done with Slater getting stretchered off with that other turd but you can't have everything.

Great stadium, great for Rugby League. :thumn

I would like nothing more then to sit here and praise the stadium and say it was perfect, i am a RL supporter first and foremost, and have spent the last 10 weeks in Melbourne spending my hard earned, to get to all the Storm games, buy there merchandise, argue with every AFL jockey, and help promote the supporters here and the pubs that show games live.

I also bought 10 tickets to the game, and gave them to Victorians i am working with, they all loved it, and my opinions on here i would never say allowed in Victoria, as they have enough to hurdle.

I was in section 23, the only toilet near us was at section 18, that toilet had room for 8 men standing. If the stadium holds 30 thousand, and 1/4 quarter of that stadium is the corner in question, then you do the math. I am hearing the other side of the stadium had heaps of mens toilets, i do not know, as i didnt expect to have to walk around the complete stadium for a piss.

The interior i loved, it was by far the best view of any game i have been too. I was so close to the game, you could feel the action. Which may be why i was so mad about the toilets, as i missed 12 minutes of the second half because of them.

I guess after using Olympic park for so long, you can overlook a few things, i just do not understand why they wouldnt finish it properly and make it perfect, cause they were close with the inside of it.

I think you make very fair and reasonable points.
