I think that the song will have some more adjustments to it, to me it sounded to be a rough blueprint if that makes sense, still all signs point to f**k YEAH!
Thank you Rick Rubin!

I knew this was probably going to be a good album, due to the fact that metallica were abandoning Bob Rock. Not that Rock was a bad producer (the production quality has been great on every metallica album he did, all St. Anger proved was that you can't polish a turd), but what it signified. It showed that metallica knew St Anger was not a good album, hiring a big name, big cost, producer to be involved over the course of your writing and recording a new album is really the ultimate way of saying "Man, we f*cked up". I like the new song, and I thought the Ramones cover they did was quite interesting, not to mention the fact they played some absolute classics they never play that much (e.g. Leper Messiah and Orion).

Guitar solo's are back :)

Doesnt sound like old school metal they used to play but does sound better than saint Anger. Sounds a bit low-tuned for me still but oh well.

Thank f**k bob rock is gone!

No Way, They played Leper Messiah and Orion????? :D

Thats what I loved so much about the 04 gig at the ent cent, the amount of old tracks they belted out. I went to that gig not expecting a lot, especially when 89 at the hordern could never be topped, IMO 04 came very close.
Full length version of puppets including the bridge which had the crow singing along with the solo "woah oh oh oh " ala maiden. It just got even better with Hit the lights as the encore. I think that after St anger, they realised what their fans want to hear, it will translate into an awesome new album IMO.

nothing like anything on st anger...you genius.

My bad, the drum kit actually resembles a drunk kit on that song. But the song is the exact same style as st. anger songs. It's rubbish...

The Mars Volta

Just another one of these alternate bands who think they have talent

As for those who think this sounds like sh*t, it is still raw, you can tell they havent even got their timing on it downpat. I dont think what you hear will be the final product on the new album.
