New Team v Melbourne???

i know this sort of post gets old, but here we are anyway......i think it is imperative that BS changes the side, because if we don't we will probably get lapped by Melbourne and the season will be over and the wooden spoon will be much closer......

so changing the team may also mean both of those things too, but at least we would have had a go, instead of just sitting around with a team that is not clicking "consistently" and just playing out the season.............

it doesn't have to be too dramatic, just something, anything.....a change is as good as a holiday you know

so, this is what i honestly think..........based on who we think is fit

1 Wade Mckinnon
2 Matt Peterson
3 Ben Smith
4 Junior Langi
5 Luke Burt
6 John Morris
7 Michael Witt
13 Daniel Wagon (c)
12 Craig Stapleton
11 Nathan Hindmarsh
10 Michael Vella
9 Lee Hopkins
8 Corey Pearson

14 Dean Widders
15 Chris Armit
16 Jack Afamasaga
17 Justin Tsoulos

something like that anyway, Graham and Peek have to go, Morris needs something different and we need some halves, give Ben Smith a go in the centres, couldn't hurt.....but i would love to see any of Grothe, Cannings, Cayless or even poor old Dykes back??????

Love to see some players come back! I think that Grothe and Cannings have to be close... I think Cayless has another couple of weeks - he won't be back until after the bye I think....

If Ben Smith is the talent everyone says he is then I'd like to keep him in reserve grade the rest of the year! Let him develop instead of coming into a side that has won only 3 out of the last 12 contests!!

1. McKinnon
2. Peterson
3. Langi
4. Burt
5. Grothe
6. Morris
7. Witt
13. Wagon
12. Afamasaga
11. Hindmarsh
10. Vella
9. Hopkins
8. Pearson

14. Widders
15. Webster (??)
16. Stapleton
17. Cannings

I say we sack Tsoulos for a week or two - he's been largely ineffective the last few games... get him to work on using his size a little better! And put Afamasaga in the starting side - he's been ripping in off the bench, and I think we could use his aggression early on! Bring Webster to the bench to give us some spark out of dummy half - I'd pick Morris at 5/8 so that at least we have some spark there, some chance of play being generated! And at the worst, it helps those guys to continue to work on their combination (Witt and Morris that is)

Ahh - Peek - I forgot him... put him in my starting second row and move Afa back to the banch and sack Cannings (if he's even fit) - let him get fit for a week in premiere league!

Peek has been good the last few weeks, atleast he goes forward with the ball and doesn't run back at the markers. Ala most of our backrowers and Stupid John Morris dummy half runs.

John Morris has lost the plot. I've said for a while he isn't a dummy half- he has no idea and upsets the whole apple cart. The first thing i'd do is get him out of there. He should be playing 5/8th in my opinion.

Witt is too slow (decision making wise- and pace) but is better than Thorman so I think he should (just) keep his place.

Stapleton has been largely ineffective when playing second row and should play prop.

Jack A needs drastic work on his defence and ball control- yet he is only young and has definite potential.

Tsoulos is playing garbage. That shoulder injury has got to be inconveniencing him.

Ashley Graham is not a winger. He is a hinderence to the side there.

With the above in mind- here's the team I would trot out with...provided no injured players become available this week.

1. McKinnon
2. Petersen
3. Langi
4. Smith
5. Burt
6. Morris
7. Witt
8. Stapleton
9. Hopkins
10. Vella
11. Hindmarsh
12. Peek
13. Wagon (c)

14. Graham
15. Widders
16. Kaufusi
17. Pearson

4. Luke Burt
5. Matt Petersen
6. Michael Witt/Chris Thorman
7. Chris Thorman/ Michael Witt

11. NAthan Hindmarsh
12. Craig Stapleton
13. Daniel Wagon (C)

I'd rather swap Burt and Graham than Graham and Langi.

O'Dwyer should be back soon, right? I'd like to see him take Langi's spot when he's fit.

can everyone explain to me what Peek has done or really has to offer to get a starting place?????? he is big and slow and doesn't really offer much to the team, he used to, but this year (when playing) i think he has been very ordinary

and i have been bagging Pearson too, but just decided to leave him there, at least he has a bit of experience and Tsoulos is playing badly and hurt.....mind you what does Chris Armit have to do to get into this squad?????

and Hurriflatch.....Peterson has been playing in 5, but he does play on our left side you know.....like him scoring our only try on our left side the other night and 2 tries on our left side against the "Poosters"

I agree Chris Armit really tries his best when he's in first grade, but Smith always uses him wrong. What does he have to do to play first grade???

Graham is useless.

As for Pearson, well I'm hoping Cannings and Cayless comes back soon cause Corey is an easy target.

exactly Parrafan.....Armit is a real scapegoat this year in my opinion.....he is a good forward, with good size and about the only one apart from Hindy who drives his legs in tackles and makes more ground after being hit.....however, that appears to not be good enough for dear old Smithy.......

and yor right Parra ren, that does seem to be the consencus, but goes on in BS' head will remain one of life's great mysteries????????????

but my god, if he names an unchanged line-up, i will F$#king scream!!!!!!!!!!!!
