New TV deal, same issues - kickoff delayed into QLD

Blame Daylight Saving, or blame The Block, either way Queensland NRL fans will have to wait an extra hour to see the opening Roosters-Rabbitohs round one clash on Thursday night. The game kicks off at 8:05pm at Allianz Stadium and Nine will screen it from 8pm in New South Wales.
But due to Daylight Saving, it won’t start in Queensland until 8pm, which is 9pm AEDT, because The Block screens from 7pm.
The Footy Show (NRL) follows at 9:45pm in both states, but again is only live in NSW.

At least they're paying more for it.

Reasons why they could put the footy on GEM and everyone would still be happy:

a) They seem to do it with the cricket a lot so we know its easy for Ch 9 to do
b) It will be in HD (When's the last time we saw HD sport on free to air TV in Australia? Aside from when they put the cricket on GEM during the news in QLD - the lack of HD sport in this country since 2010 is another incredibly frustrating thing)
c) The Block screens at its normal time as does the footy

I have more issues with 4 weeks of Thursday games. Utterly ridiculous up against MKR.

What I cannot understand is that these chronies in charge have somehow agreed to very unfreindly family timeslots of Monday Thursday and Sunday night timeslots.

I spoke to a fan yesterday and he decided not to take up his membership due to the amount of Monday night games he had to attend last season!

This issue will be further made a problem for fans as they put up with Thursday nights and Sunday nights!

I could stomach Monday night being replaced by Thursday nights and Sunday nights but not all three shocker timeslots on a given weekend. I understand the Thursday nite games are for the first 4 rounds, but even that with the Monday nites and the occasional Sunday nite is a real deterrent to fans attending games!

This fan stated: The most user friendly timeslot for families is the Sunday afternoons and the Saturday 5.30pm game" Otherwise hes not taking his family to a game!

Its going beyond a joke!

Not user friendly for the attending fan whatsover!

The only improvement was the set draw which Im sure was used as a bargaining chip for these "planners" to abuse the night time slots on our working week!

Does anyone this this scenario is beyond the reason of possibility?

9 have done this to stir up a hornets nest to make sure all the people who watch the block and the NRL know that when they change the times back which channel which will be on.

It was all over the radio and news this arvo/night about the game being delayed, surely they know they would have to bow to public pressure, this way everyone knows about the game and if the block gets moved to GEM/GO.

heaps of comments on it about the delayed telecast, the admins don't reply to any of them, yet if someone posts something about the block or days of our lives the admins reply right away.. Same thing happened when they delayed the cricket into qld.
