Might need to pay closer attention to the article you posted…Your maths doesn’t seem to stack up- 2.1 million was on free to air not sky paid service, which was one game a week- on top of paid viewers.
States in the article that 2 games (Blues v Chiefs and Blues v Crusaders) got 1.3million viewers just across those 2 games.
Also says in the article there were 6.8million streams.

Glad to see good results for the Warriors- few knives out in the fanbase after that performance though so they need to be careful. Poor results won’t effect crowds for a bit yet, got tickets for a game in April (purchased pre Canberra game admittedly) and sections were starting to sell out even then
Nah those numbers aren’t right

Super rugby last year after ten rounds had a total cumulative audience of around 1.3 million for every game combined

So on that basis the average super rugby game would be getting 60 to 80k average viewers

Ok so you don’t know. Thanks.
Up until round ten nrl and super rugby both got basically similar cumulative ratings of 1.3 million

Obviously since the super rugby season is so short then the nrl trounced them over the full season

And the nrl report cites total ratings of 13.7 million in nz

That puts league ahead of any other sport

That’s an excerpt from the article you posted stating the ratings for the top and the 3rd highest rated game from the tournament. Just using these figures plus the non mentioned 2nd highest rated game at the lower Blues v Crusaders match figures you’re at around 2mil already, logic would tell you that the remaining 90 odd games combined would surely have a higher cumulative total than just one of the mentioned games.
