Yep, we've got to get V'Landys & Abdo over to Christchurch to see that stadium in action.

The experience it'll provide will set a new bar for venues in Australasia.

Hopefully Christchurch could get a couple of NRL trial&regular season games as well.

7 super rugby games plus finals and maybe an all blacks test

An nrl team sure would come in handy to keep the stadium utilised and have sold out crowds regularly

I was reading an article the other day that said that NZ Rugby was keen to take some NPC (National Provincial Championship) games to smaller venues, as the crowds get lost in bigger stadiums, plus those venues cost more to hire.

Already Wellington is taking games to Porirua Park this year, and I'm thinking Auckland might follow suit. Christchurch might be different given they've just spent a lot on the new stadium, but if a satellite town/suburb like (say) Rolleston puts up a good case for a game or two, why not?

im almost sure they will eventually take the majority of NPC games to the more smaller provincial stadiums as they already struggle to fill the big stadiums for super rugby as it is.

the talk I heard was that they are considering moving more super rugby games to these smaller provincial stadiums.
