9.30pm local start just screams "who gives a f**k about local fans".

Horrendous outcome for Kiwi supporters
Taking a game to a location for those locals.. screams" who gives a f**k about local fans"..
Lol ok.
It's between NSW and QLD, ya think maybe they reserve the right to view their own teams at a desirable time? Maybe? And maybe the broadcasters who pay millions have a say maybe?

Taking Origin to NZ dispite the challenges to please supporters and broadcasters in Australia screams!!
" thank you for your support NZ! We haven't forgotten about you! Sorry about the late kickoff, we got it for as early as possible and I'm sure you understand!"

Thank you for 1000% backing up my point, that the local fans are barely considered important

Why not play it on a Sunday night?

8pm local time, 6pm Sydney?

Channel 9 saying no would be my guess …I’m sure the option was considered

Maybe in hindsight the NRL could have delayed the game until the new broadcast deal and imposed the time themselves if it was important enough to them ..but they probably don’t care about it as much as we do…

I’m sure the game will still be sold out …and considered a success .,

You're a cooked unit if you think watching something on TV is the same as attending in person.
For those who think it's too late won't go. Those that don't will buy a ticket and make their way to the ground.
You're trying to argue that Kiwis don't want this lol
A sold out Eden Park will say that they very much do!!

Only a cooked unit would argue that both things exist at the same time.

They're going to pay 5 million dollars and sell out an event they .. don't want..

You make these arguments because it's the opposite of me lol I think you have GDS
Godsmacked Derangement Syndrome. Lmao.

Maybe just talk about topics based on their merit?
And abandon this flawed strategy?

Of course. They paid 5 million for it and will sell every last seat.. only a fool would consider it anything but a success.

Sell out no problem

But the nz tv ratings could be way higher if earlier

Nine could literally move their news and ca for one day for like one of their biggest programs of the year

It’s not a good time for the locals but being a one off event it will sell out anyway.
Curious what the pricing will be like. generally origin is priced quite a bit higher than what NZers are used to paying for live games and being a lower capacity will the nrl push to get the same revenue they’d get at a larger venue?
