Ok, I understand Bradmanson and Mitchell's frustration here, but this is pretty serious dissent....

Haha Ian Smith is a deadshit

"Just change to the legside shot....oh see there's a hotspot on the bat already and the ball is nowhere near it"

You can';t see the inside edge from that camera, Ian.

Did Sharma want to reverse the decision? If he was given out, no need for him to talk to the umpire for that long I would have thought

I don't know I go there, but I do....

Typical Indian on Cricinfo said:
Pranav: "I understand the general consensus about the decision but i still think Mitchell didn't go for the DRS right away, which batsman generally does if they have inside edged it. He consulted Williamson first. About hot-spot, is it possible it was from the bat-pad? " -- Bat and pad were some distance from each other.

He knew he hit it, and was asking his captain for permission to review

Another One said:
Akshat: "Here's the thing. Hotspot isn't trustworthy. There was a similar case when Nigel Llong gave Nathan Lyon not out for LBW in a test match for a spot on hotspot despite the bat being far away from ball, incidentally that desicion went against NZ too. That's why the umpire went for RTS, and I don't blame him. I've always believed hotspot should not be used for any big tournament"

That hotspot happened out of shot. This one was obviously the ball.

Are you telling me that the good guys of cricket have shown dissent?

Saint Basil McCullum would be most displeased

Blah blah it's only you lol obsessed with the nice guy thing

Like the Long decision that was f**king geniused. It's like they recruit umpires from the special class. Actually having seen a lot of Kiwi and Aussie umpires I am pretty sure they do!

I think maybe he did

Mitchell only delayed because he's never used it before

Unlike the Llong decision, where the rules (because the creation of the hotspot wasn't caught on camera) were the problem, this one was just an atrocious decision with no such defence

And unlike the Llong decision we've cowboyed up and not folded
I'm shocked though just with the front on everyone saw the edge then the hotspot.

Williamson's reaction was exactly how you'd expect a normal person to respond

Be interesting to see what happens even my wife thought it was a joke

Like I said at the time, too, I completely understand Williamson's frustration.

Batsman still has to go though.

In their time of need, NZ need a DeBigKnock. And out strode a DeBigMan.

And now, having done what he feels is enough, off strides that same DeBigMan

Don't what is with the stubbornness with putting Santner in at 7. Should be batting at 9 or 10 in the shorter formats on form.
