The New Zealand Kiwis have demolished Australia 24-0 at Elland Road this morning. The Kiwis were rock solid in defence while the ball seemed foreign to the Australians in attack.
The Australians managed to tally up a total of 20 errors and a completion rate of just 46% while the victorious New Zealanders completed an impressive 32 sets out of 43 possessions.
The 24-0 demolition job is the first time Australia have been kept scoreless since the Kiwis emposed an 18-0 scoreline on them back in 1985.
Mitsubishi Electric Bulldog Roy Asotasi was damaging off the bench for the Kiwis with some solid hits in defence and one run in particular that saw him putting a left foot step on Australian fullback Anthony Minichiello after finding open pasture.
Mark O'Meley was unlucky not to score late in the match after Australian halfback Craig Gower offloaded close to the line only to be called back on a forward pass ruling.
With the Tri-Nations campaign complete, Willie Mason, Mark O'Meley, Andrew Ryan and Roy Asotasi will take a short break from football before starting back up at Belmore in the new year.
