Newcastle lost playmakers Campbell and Mullen to firstgrade last week, which caused them to go into the game V Balmian with no recognised halfback or 5/8 - and thereby play like a disorganised rabble for the first half at least - which cost them the game despite a late rally.
For this week Brad Tighe goes to 5/8 and Scott Dureau makes his seniors debut in the 7. Nathan Berry has also been promoted from the juniors to play hooker, and he will add an extra option for tactical kicking.
Dan Spiteri has been ripping teams apart in his new role as 'gamebreaker' come hooker. He led the revival last week, and should get more game time this week I hope.
Michael Young is improving every week and should be in contention for firstgrade soon.
