I would hold off on the 2 os players until the gcu and fury situations are a bit clearer. There are plenty of good players in them. Would jason want to play for dad again??

Well, Culina is Australian, so he wouldn't count. To be honest, unless it's Fowler, I wouldn't want any of the Fury or GC's overseas players.

I'd rather those two rumored players over about 80% of our current roster...

Hunter Ports new major sponsor of the Jets and Knights

HSG today announced Hunter Ports is the Principal Partner and front of jersey sponsor for both the Newcastle Jets and Knights for their upcoming seasons.

The two-year sponsorship while generating exposure on the front of both Jets A-League and Youth League jerseys as well as Knights' NRL and NYC teams, will also involve a substantial investment in community and youth programmes and events.

Hunter Ports Chairman Mr Nathan Tinkler confirmed the decision to support both these Newcastle icons was about community participation and to ensure the Hunter continued to grow as a commercial and sporting destination.

"It is an exciting time for Hunter Ports to join forces with other national and international brands to ensure Newcastle is a better place for us to live and most importantly bring up our families who can now enjoy international quality sport all year round," he said.

"I am particularly enthusiastic about our community programmes that will create elite sporting and career pathways and our community engagement that will ensure both the Jets and the Knights are valuable members and contributors to the Hunter community. With this investment we are supporting the Hunter Sports Group strategy of making sport affordable and accessible for the families of the Hunter.”

Hunter Ports is an exciting project that is developing a proposal for a new coal loader in Newcastle and is currently working on a range of technical, financial and environmental options to determine its viability.

Hunter Ports is working to achieve environmental best practices setting new benchmarks for the industry in Newcastle and to make a positive contribution to the community.

Hunter Ports join companies like NIB, Klosters, ISC, Draytons Wines, NBN, McDonalds, Newcastle Herald and Radio 2HD that have embraced the concept of sponsoring and supporting both the Newcastle Jets and the Knights.

Several other major sponsorship and corporate partnerships across both Clubs are expected to be announced over the coming weeks.

The HSG start a major eight days of sport from Saturday with the Jets taking on Melbourne Heart, the Netball International on Sunday between Australia and England while on Sunday week the eyes of the rugby league world will be on Ausgrid Stadium when the Australian Kangaroos take on the Kiwis.
