News Ltd Motivation

Could someone please explain to me what News Ltd stand to gain from all this? Reading the Sydney Tele and how they have been putting the boot into the Storm makes me wonder what News Limiteds motivation is. A heads up would be greatly appreciated.

There's the answer right there.

They could quite easily do that and wipe their hands with the club by taking up the offers they've had to sell the club. It was reported the last offer was only as recently as a month ago so. If the wanted so much distance from it why didn't they sell the thing? The only thing they want distance from is any blame for this whole mess regardless of how deep in it they are.

Misappropriation of funds would require Police involvement however systematic cheating or "fraud" of a games rules, would not.

But i have a feeling some of the directors will get a visit from Victorias finest.

and the ATO will only get involved if the players claim they earned less then what they actually did.

ive got no problem with the Storm or having the team in Melbourne....

but i find it extremely rich to accuse someone from News of Bludging when the club does the same thing off News.

I see your point Eels Dude.

Personally I don't think it would get up but it is a possibility I suppose.

Taking your possibility as an eventual "given" and the fact that there are milllions and millions involved (especially when you factor in lost sponsorships, fines etc.), the guilty parties would surely be looking at some serious time behind bars.

And to think one of the "gang of 5" is still employed in the game AND with the blessing of David Gallop. :crazy:
