Am I missing something here ?

Just finished reading this weeks big league magazine and in the jim beam grand final article it states

"The grand final loss was made even more shattering for Newtown, as they face the reality of reaching the grand final, and then not being part of the comp next season."

"....it looks as if they will struggle financially to field a team in 2007."

WTF?????

Talking to an insider of yours last week....they're definitely pulling the plug in the JBC due to financial reasons.

sorry to break it to you.

Definately ?????

apparently....he's a mate of mine and I rang him last Friday to wish him goodluck [not too much though] for Sunday and he basically came out and said it and he was directly involved in that side of the club.

It appears it was financial decision and I couldn't really tell when they'll eventually confirm it with you guys.

Was actually thinking that no Beam side in 2007 may be a deep down desire of yours BJ ???

No Beam side = More money and better players in A grade with a HUGE chance of a Premier league run/debut for those playing Jets " A 's ".

I personally reckon it would be a devastating shame if we were unable to field a side in 2007. The beam cup is only just starting to take off. Foxtel coverage. More teams from wider areas. It's gonna be HUGE.

Obviously the ( " Attempted " quality importance ) placed upon the Beam Cup by the money mongers etc, by putting the Beam grand final game after the Premier league major semi is an hint at how important these arseholes are trying to PUMP up this competition. And now when it only truly starts to take off, our Jet is crash and burnin. And a season after making the grandfinal.

Would be Insanity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Flashbacks of 1981 ( then 1983 again ). Making it to the top then dissappearing from the comp. :x #-o ](*,)

Hope I win lotto this Saturday night. !!!!!!!!!!

The latest situation with the JB cup side is that all players contracted to Newtown have been told to look else where however there is a possability that a sponsor will come on board and fund JB cup side to compete in the comp...this opportunity popped up on Monday just gone and we're supposed to know by today whether or not they'll come on board.

I'll try and keep you posted but I'll probably won't know until next week.

Most of the Jim Beam Cup players are pretty downtroden since they heard I'll be taking all of their spots next year.
