James Graham was going to make a good point on 360, but got cut off.

If the Eels have been sitting on this decision for 3 weeks, why did they suddenly rush out the announcement today without telling the players first? Why not do it during the day, pull BA in for a meeting, and separately pull the players into a meeting and make the announcement internally first, with a simultaneous media announcement.
The only reason I can see them doing it this way today (that Graham was alluding to) is that Bennett makes a point of not negotiating with teams until the incumbent coach has been fired. With Arthur officially gone today, they can give Bennett an 11th hour formal option before he signs the Souths deal - as Wayne would have told them he’s signing with Souths this week, but and won’t delay that for a ‘maybe’ at Souths, so the Eels needed to put up or shut up with Wayne, and do it now. They’ve done this to give them 1 crack at Wayne.

Every time he tries to make a solid point he gets talked over. He's the only one with brains on the panel.
