Suity , I played at a reasonably high level and coached State League in WA (granted a while ago) .

My opinion is as good as yours, and I really believe the league is over-hyped

Fish, there are 1 or 2 quality players around, and that helps teams, but honestly the standard across the league is poor really, the NSL in the early 90s was much more competitive.

The A league is so non physical, it is hard to watch, any comparison with League 1 in the UK is laughable , and that is what they try to tell us.

Fair enough.
I accept your opinion. It differs slightly to mine. I'm not here to promote the A-League, I just thought it worthwhile to let people know that there'd be a decent sporting event to watch at the stadium in a fortnight. It will also help our bottom line, as a lot of the football fans will probably spend money in our club. The more we get there the better for the Eels.
I'm going, and I'm looking forward to it.
I'll spend some bucks in the club and I hope heaps of others do as well.

The old NSL was a better standard that the over rated drivel that gets served up in the A League.

On the very odd occasion I bother to watch I am amazed how it gets talked up, really it is ordinary
If anyone wants to see how poor the A League is just watch games of the "Socceroos" in the Asian Cup when the team is made of A Leaguers. Especially the game against Indonesia

as much as i want football to thrive the a league is just the nsl with marquee players

sometimes its unbearable to watch so i switch it off and watch the blue square premier league for better quality

Sorry for repeating that... should have read the whole thread
