By the way Kury Gidley's contract has a get-out clause if Joey is not there so there as repoted in the Herald this morning. I'm unsure what he is doing now that joey is going to rugby?

well it's not even definite that he is going to Rugby! eventhough some reports suggest it's a done deal.

I find it ammusing that Ray Hadley was giving it to Brian Smith in buckets full and talking about how Manly made the positive step of changing their coaching staff and they have a much brighter future. I don't think so. They are near enough to last this year- and have outlayed about 30% of their salary cap on a bloke who's played about 20 games in 2 1/2 yrs (Kennedy) and a bloke that is definately a solid first grader but nothing special (Kite). I hope you guys get Jamie Lyon as well- it'd take that fat jerk about a year to get in shape let alone return to NRL/NSW/Australian form- than 50% of your salary cap can be taken up by these 3 and Walk about Walker. Face it, Manly are capable of winning on their day- but even with the purchases they've made so far they are still not going to get anywhere near the 8. I'd take Riddell over Kite and Kennedy any day of the week.

Well done Dessie (Why isn't Mander ref instead of video ref/ and the video ref had a shocker also), Crusher (I wish Jamioe Lyon was my son instead of my little bitch), Blocker and co...Manly sure is headed for good times  It'll be interesting to see whether or not you can avoid the spoon this year.

One final word- 52-12 boys- you're a team full of cabbages!

My 2005 teams (Premier League in brackets)

Basically, I think we clearly need a rep-quality centre and I'd be gunning hard for Orford, too. I'd be over the moon to throw in a player like Pritchard to battle for the second row spot with Muckert. I really want to see Mateo in first grade next year coming off the bench, I think he's the something extra we're missing. We don't need any fringe first graders because most of the team that started off in Flegg this year have proven themselves viable backup. I'd like to see us resign Shane Muspratt, while he hasn't shined in NRL, he would make a good backup to Riddell as a hooker/second rower. I think Langi has done enough to be resigned if we can get him at fair price and of course we should try and hold Stapleton.

1. McKinnon (Reddy)
2. Burt (Anderson)
3. Vaeliki (Langi)
4. NEW SIGNING (Graham or Smith)
5. Grothe (Peterson)
6. Morris (Witt/Delaney)
7. Orford/Dykes (Smith/Witt)
8. Cannings (Stapleton - please resign)
9. Riddell (Muspratt)
10. Cayless (Armit)
11. Hindmarsh (Afamasaga)
12. Muckert (NEW SIGNING - Frank Pritchard please)
13. Wagon (O'Dwyer)

14. Mateo (Curtis, F Peterson, or New Signing?)
15. Widders (Graham or Smith)
16. Tsoulos (Huaraki)
17. Vella (Moimoi)

CUT: Hopkins, Prince, Gruskza, Pearson, Webster, Thorman, Peek, Kaufusi, Pai

You guys think you will get Orford. What a classic.

It's either Melbourne or Newcastle for him. I'll be back to say, "I told you so."

+grothe. Maybe for Anderson.

I'd like to see Grothe closer to the action though, maybe as a centre or a fullback coming into the line.
