Yeh, when you consider our last deal increase was 11% over 5 years it’s terrible lol.
You’ve been saying how bad that last deal was since it was done

Now it’s a benchmark

You are hilarious

So if the nrl average an increase of 4 percent pa like the afl have you will say it’s an amazing deal as well

lol

No one cares except Wb lol. Of course they had to offer more to get massive rights increase. Doh.
You’ve been saying for years having a national competition is the key to getting large tv deal increases which you’ve always said afl had

Now you are saying the increase was because they offered more

So the first argument was just bs.

And four percent pa isn’t a large increase

They had to lock their game away for a longer time to get basically an increase which matches inflation

Their tv deal has been more than ours for 20 years. So yeh national appeal clearly matters. Shame it’s taken the nrl this long to wake up to it But they finally seem to realise having perth in the comp is a good thing.

id take there 4% over our 2%! Especially when the $ value they are starting at was higher.

inflation isnt 4% lol

Inflation was 8 percent

Shame the national competition didn’t pay off for them last time

Maybe adding dots on a map with few people watching on tv in those areas is a really bad long term expansion strategy

As we know a Perth nrl team won’t be worth much to tv companies and provide little new viewers in wa

They’ve always had more teams and content than we have had. Now the nrl is expanding that will change

And nrl ratings are growing well without extra rounds or teams

Eg last year nz showed 14 percent growth

8%? What? Lol

$550mill tv cash v $400mill cash. yeh looks terrible for them. That’s only a revenue difference of $450mill before our next deal kicks in. What’s 1/2 a bill between friends.

Only an idiot would compare an afl deal which has been renegotiated against an nrl deal that hasn’t been

The nrl tv deal will show more growth than the 4 percent pa the afl got

Four percent a year over five years is 20 percent growth

Since the current deal is 400 million then for the nrl to march the afl the target is 480 million
Who care what % is, you can’t spend percentages lol.
Cold hard cash is all that matters.
to match them in 2028 (ignoring the fact we will be $450mill behind from 25-27)
we will need to get a 37.5% increase on current deal.

Eh? We regnotoated a tv deal. It is running from 2023 to 2027.
but will it deliver the $550mill. Cash That’s all that matters.

they got a 28% increase. We will need to get a 37.5% just to match them.

You thought getting an increase of 4 percent pa was amazing

Just be consistent

But yeh I expect that nrl will easily beat the increase the afl got

Getting $120 mill extra cash a year is amazing. It’s unprecedented, there has never been a tv sports rights Increase like it In Australia

we will need to get a $150mill cash a year increase just to match it. and we’ll still be $450mil behind by the time our deal starts compared to when theirs started.

by any definition their deal stating this year is amazing considering the first three years of it we are stuck $150mill a year behind them until we can start a new deal.

I’m just not a one eyed fool. Their deal is outstanding, like I said it’s unprecedented to get a $120mill cash a year increase.
The pressure is now on vlad to get us somewhere near it. It’s unlikely to make up for the. $450mill they’ve earnt more than us from tv in 25-27 but at least we can catch them up from 2028 hopefully.
