FTA side of it is mostly worthless.

Having 3 SOO for women is good for them, The game would of got a nice boost of cash too.

Hopefully rates well and pushes the value up
Afl gets 150 million without origin which is worth around 50 million but seven get way more fta games than nein do

They also have exclusive games. Extra ad breaks etc. I doubt they are making money off it, Where FTA works for them is IF people watch other programs as a result

NRLW in particular. Had games on midday Sat and Sunday in terrible timeslots, Both Fox and 9 have their own coverage.

Atleast Fox could have it run into NRL so they could have the same production staff

so our deal has actually lost us money? taking into account inflation and all that? No wonder Ch9 is happy lol
We haven’t done the new deal

but 14 percent would be way under inflation over 8 years

good win for seven with an extra round and tasmania coming in

eh? We've just finished year 1 of a new 5 year deal lol.
And according to Iamback its lost us a sht load of money (around $40million all up) on the last deal for FTA, inflation factored in.
Great win for Ch9 with more games and a second Brisbane team, no digital media competition and other perks!

Inflation will be close to 25 to 30 percent over eight Years

so the seven fta deal is a reduction of over ten percent

the nrl will be lucky to renegotiate knowing what inflation is

the afl just got stuck with it

Primes increased its subscribers this year and sits at double Kayos subscription numbers, Stan is also higher than kayo

the f**k is this. You cant throw out Prime and Stans general subs and compare it to Kayos sport only subs.

prime has 4.5mill subscribers
foxsports and kayo combined 3.8mill

- Foxtel has 4.646m paying subs in September.
- Stan has 2.2m paying subs in June

Note that Telsytes data for Amazon, while interesting, is not hard data, its them guessing.

Have Stan said how many people are paying the $10 extra for the Stan sport?

You can double that $10 per month if they get a major sport, Not sure all will jump across from Kayo

2 million subscribers is a good base to start from. With the nrl rights they would overtake foxtel and foxtels position stuck with the afl would be precarious

if they did get nrl we wouldn’t suffer a huge loss in eyeballs which is important

if only nine could get decent commentators

if it means a record tv deal I’ll suffer with the games on mute

Early when Stan Sport started they reported 250k subscribers the costs then were $35m.

It's 1st full year it was $73m - At $10 a sports subscriber they need 608k paying for the whole year just to cover that.

You need to double or triple that costs because most sports they have they are just taking someone else's feed. In NRL they'd be producing the lot.

So I don't see them realistically having the resources to improve the quality of the broadcast
