2019 AFL tv and digital $397.4mill
2019 NRL tv and digital $348.5mill

Numbers dont lie, nearly a $50mil a year gap in the previous deal, so yeh your claim they were close is BS, not surprised the smell is so strong for you.
This thread was started to talk about tv deals

You should get the person who started it and rename the thread since you want to include non tv revenue in the figures

its media, or arent we counting 'streaming' as part of the tv deal? The Telstra deal for AFL back in the 2017 deal included streaming rights.

'Telstra will once again hold the rights for hand-held devices, AFL.com.au and the club digital network. Telstra will broadcast every match on mobile devices.'

streaming, or are we not counting streaming in the discussion?
The AFL deal under discussion included a portion of the Telstra revenue as a streaming deal. It explains why NRL was getting $25mill digital revenue and Telstra was paying AFL $50mill for same thing, a chunk of the $50mill was for streaming rights. So yes when counting tv deals we need to look at all media that is paying to show games. Pretty obvious Id have thought?

Yeh streaming is fair enough but most of it was for ownership of the afl websites

And obviously anything on the stadium going forward is pure bs

Impossible to know. Like I said NRL was generating $25mill from its websites and had costs to operate on that.
Cant see why AFL would pay $40mill+ for the same thing and have the costs to develop and run them?
Either AFL got a very good deal, NRL wasnt close to generating the same revenue as AFL in that area, or Telstra was paying more for streaming rights. Guess we'll never know.

So impossible to know but you’re happy aggregating the figures regardless lol

Here’s a tip when the afl choose to aggregate the figures it’s too hide the value of the tv deal because it’s not as good as they are claiming

Show me where in the 2019 accounts it has the Telstra $50 million - You cant because it's lumped into AFL Media and broadcasting....
See page 166
So if we deduct $50m from $397 we get $347m... I got you their i was catching my breath...No you didn't
a little fun and his a pommy too Ted and gang enjoy..back and forth..
So Telstra was about something called mobile phone streaming rights ... For something like $50 pa, But Foxtel put the hammer down on it's partner and no more rights.. Telstra being a obedient dog still stumped up the $50m p/a cash anyway.
