Yes i do, I only mentioned revenue to show how it's possible monetized form value to NRL.... And that's a low ball number of 'customers' I could foresee over a half million, due to the lack of entertainment. So if we have 550, 000 customers of Digicel paying $11 per month and for the year, you get $72,600,000. pa Now as the NRL is the star feature we could easily ask for $25 to $30 m and Digicel with a $2 dollar increase ( to $13 per month) could be still very profitable, with advertising revenue still to come.

The $7 is for their phone service.

And no, most of that country lives in extreme poverty, so we can't just expect them to pay $13 on top of the $7.

Stop thinking of PNG as if it's like Australia. It's not.

You'd do well to not listen to morons like wb when they post bullshit numbers.

Given his track record at NSW Racing and now the NRL that must make PVL the greatest fumble fan of all.
In fact you`d have to be pretty stupid not to, we should have been doing it for a lot longer than we have.
They are upset league is finally getting similar govt money as afl

Didn’t hear a peep when tamania got one billion to build two stadiums plus another 120 million from the state govt to cover the clubs losses

Dopes don’t realise Perth bid has 500 million in govt support and without which they would get no team

Actually everyone has voiced their disapproval, it just doesn't suit your agenda to admit that.

Yes because of greedy people sticking their hands out expecting taxpayers to fund rich sportspeople. They would have external funding if it wasn't for that greed.

The number of people that follow sport - no matter where or what sport it is - is nearly always very much a minority of the total population. So why do Govt`s throw money at sports, certainly not just for "rich sports people" and you can`t really rely on it to be a vote winner, voters have other priorities.

No. Govt`s throw money at sporting codes because they know that sports are huge and growing industries, classic example of advance economies progressing from primary production through manufacturing and then onto the services industry. The growth of the money generating ability of sports is part and partial of this shift. Hence the investment. There are other externalities of this investment as well.

American states throw billions at nfl stadia

America is one of the richest countries in the world and the nfl one of the biggest sports in the world

They do it because states recognize the value of a team

And yet some people are angry that rugby league is in a similar position where places are so desperate for a team that govts will pay for the privilege
