I wouldn't go from paying my current $25 a month for NRL,SL,F1 and NFL to pay $35 just for NRL. I'm sure I am not alone.

No. I would buy Sky UK and VPN it and keep all those sports I watch.
$70 a month and you get sky sports, Netflix and a stack of UK channels. Would work out cheaper than me buying Stan just for NRL and having to buy F1, my SL team channel and Netflix separate.

If Stan was $30 and had NRL and SL i would move over (unless the Ch9 standard of covg was so dire I couldn't stand it!)

For me the kids love Disney plus. They now have ESPN content.

So really is just NRL and F1 from Fox/Kayo and there are ways to get both should the price be too high or not worth it

If they keep the digital membership there will be a big uptake in next couple of years, why wouldn't you? Its just started this year and hasnt been well advertised.
Get KAYO for $48 a year less and a club membership pack. No brainer!

It isn't just that. You can get NBA Tv for $20 but that has multiple games every day.

Say you pay $30 for NRL alone, What are you meant to watch the rest of the week? And Off season

@Perth Red make no mistake Sport is a massive driver of subscription/pay TV. Without the NRL / AFL Foxtel would be nothing.

Entertainment has moved to streaming platforms.

FTA is all above News, Reality TV and Sport.
Pay TV is all about Sport.

Fox might survive without the NRL but it would be a massive hit. If they lost both AFL and NRL it could be terminal

In that scenario though

Fox have saved $700m a year or whatever both and the production costs. They can afford to drop their price with that and may not lose as many.

where you getting 430mill from? There cash deal for Tv is somewhere around $550mill. I'm sure FTA is paying more than $120mil isnt it? SMH had the split 35-65 allegedly.
