Just checked in with the AccuWeather website, it is currently 30 degrees in Port Moresby. At 2pm- 32°, 4pm- 30°. At 6pm-28°, 9pm- 26°.

Saturday 9:30pm might be too late to generate sufficient ratings.
Yeh, no TV station in Australia is going to stomach a 9.30pm game.

@Wb1234 you're cooked

I don't think they have sufficient lighting or security for it to be any other time.

If they are insufficient in lighting and security, then PNG entry into the comp should be delayed. There's no pressure on PNG been team 18, where most likely it will be Perth.

Sunday 630 pm will be for most Perth home games (330 to 430 pm Perth)

They could also try Saturday 930 pm (630 to 730 pm ko Perth)

Need to allow Perth to have games at a good time for crowds and tv viewers in their home market
Ideally wed have
fta thurs 7pm, fri 8pm, sat 7.30
ptv fri 6pm (png and nz as much as possible), sat 3pm, 5.30pm
ptv Super Sunday 3 games 2pm, 4pm, 6pm (perth in the 6pm slot as often as possible)

It will be at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium. The venue will apparently be upgraded in two stages with a capacity of 25,000.

My bad, this should be at Future NRL Stadiums thread lol.

It`s gonna be very tempting to catch a game up there when done and be able to stay at the adjoining hotel. The atmosphere at their games should be off the charts.
Not sure whether hiring a car and taking in the sights is something I`m quite ready for though.

This question doesn’t make any sense and includes unnecessary name calling. I’m not sure what response you’re looking for but you’ve just screwed up your second chance.
You made the claim wanker.

What is your great research that night games will be a thing in PNG?

They laugh, but they don't seem to realise that since 2017, there has been 1 match kick off at 5.30pm, 2 at 5pm and the rest 4pm or earlier. Night games don't exist over there.

@ThornlieBear should have done some of that research he talks about before embarrassing himself next time.

Is that due to lack of lighting at stadium or security concerns pre and post game?

The daily mean hangs around 27 degrees and 80% humidity year round. The humidity is more of a problem than the temperature which is comparable to Townsville.

Most of those internationals played in PNG happen during the off season, so games in the winter are going to be far more palatable.

Funny how suddenly people are realising there is all sorts of logistical issues with PNG.
