Just pathetic. He's a journalist. A Rugby League journalist. That's all he does. He only needs to know things about one sport. His job is pretty f**king simple. Research and write about Rugby League. He failed at the the first thing. Research. A f**king google search. It's not hard.

That's either beyond incompetence or intentionally trying to mislead the public.... Oh yes, of course, News Corp.

Its very pro aFL and anti Rugby League in my opinion.

yeah .. I rarely watch it as well , but I just caught that & thought....

did he f**k up the day ?
was it Sunday he meant because I've heard that was a possibility
& interestingly the 6pm Sunday timeslot would be a semi regular feature in an expanded comp ... it would be a live broadcast from Perth with a 4pm kickoff there

anyway

6pm Friday

I do think when the dust settles on the new NRL TV deal there is going to be a lot of embarrassment for those fumbelball loving fools on offsiders, and bigfooty will be in meltdown.
Happy days ahead for Rugby League in the long term.

Its a surprise but is it such a ridiculous thing? One live game on fox leading into a live game on nine? I'd like it. Any idea of who said it?

Half of Sydney are still in transit at 6pm on a weeknight. It would also put it up against the News which is not going to be great for ratings.

Yep I can imagine Fox wanting a Friday 6pm game to make up for no Monday Night. History says the Sunday 6pm games is the worst rating slot for Fox when they have done it. I read one year that they had it and were not happy with the ratings and moved it to a Saturday 3pm game instead.

Where did you hear this? Sunday night has always been the highest rating night for tv.

it hasn't for fox NRL games, but if it was permanent it would soon become a franchise slot like MNF imo.

The only way a Friday 6pm game could work is if it were warriors home games at 8pm local time, but then you still have the problem in Australia of people getting home in time for the game, as well as having only one Australian side which would make it less attractive to foxsports. Still, it's something the NRL could offer as a handful of games each year & it would enhance the value of the rights in NZ as well. Clubs could also always sell a few games to NZ like Melbourne did this year.
