Next year's fullback?

Noticed on the commentary on saturday night that Andy Raymond reckons McDonnell is the most likely replacement for Hodgson for 2009 and beyond. This does not sit well with me, and I can only hope Sheens isn't thinking along those lines.

What do others here think? I'm starting to wish Hodgo would go around with us for another year, but he probably wanted a longer contract. Can Benji slot in there? Lawrence? Beau Ryan? Any of the lower graders?

I think we are going to miss Hodgo at the back next year drastically. Still as safe as a house, good positionally, and pretty solid defensively.

My hope is that Lazarus will be the fullback for us next year, he will be down on some match fitness tho, so maybe we will see him trialled a few games into the season after playing some games in state cup.

i tend to agree with mish, if lazo didnt have the knee injury i think we would of see quite a bit of him this year. He has the flair

He is young and full of talent, I'm sure Tigers will be pushing to get his signature soon, he will overcome this set back and be a great replacement for Hodgo. Today is his birthday (Happy 20th Blake). Would of been nice if he had of been offered a contract today, would of made his day (and many of ours)

Blake Lazerus is my first choice.

However Tim Moltzen moved from halfback to fullback, which co-incided wit Hodgos announcement, and has been doing an absolute killer job. Perhaps the coaching staff is looking at both Moltzen & Lazerus.....

Lazarus was the plan at start of season.

But maybe the move of Moltzen to fulback may co-incide with Head staying on as halfback and finding a spot for him. Who knows

I definetely don't trust Lawrence at the back. Way to many blunders

I was hoping Lazo would get the job, but due to his injury, I'd like to see Hanbury get the gig, and Lazo get back into it in the Youth Cup.
