NFL on Channel 10

Wow that really surprises me, but to be honest I think it could be a really smart move - there are a lot of people in Australia who would watch NFL (especially over the crap that is on free-to-air TV nowadays) and I think it's a smart gamble by them.

Having said that I think showing it live is a mistake. The only way the NFL will interest the general public is to cut out the time in between downs like foxtel used to do when they replayed a game at night (now they show the whole thing, and unless you are an NFL lover you will probably get bored watching the game for 3 and a half hours). If they condensed it down into a 1-2 hour show it has the chance to be very successful I think.

Good call. We've missed out on some marquee games this year. Hope Ch 10 can fill the breach.

It's like they've got anything else worth watching in the morning anyway.

That was my biggest dissapointment with Foxtel eastsrule. I couldnt believe how little college football is played - I keep seeing the ad saying "college football all season long on ESPN" but I think they've only shown about 2 games this season.

it's going to be on their digital hd channel i think, not your standard channel 10. the super bowl (not this season's one, but the next one) will be on normal channel 10

There will come a time IMO where we can subscribe to get all the American Football games we want, whether it be College or NFL.

Maybe Channel Ten did a little research and found the NFL is actually starting to catch on in Australia and they want in on the action?

great move by channel ten, provided they arent going to just use the games televised on austar, perhaps they can grab the cbs games, obviously i am all for having a live version and perhaps a cut down version at night. But yeah this could be an excellent move as the NFL season kicks off about the same time NRL finishes

CBS has taken the mantle as the 'game of the week'.

Monday night games thus far have been sh*thouse except packers denver and pats ravens.

Is it on the normal CH10 or CH10 HD? I don't have that HD box :(

I'm happy with ANY game so long as Tony Kornheiser doesn't repeat the same sh*t over and over.

Good analyst when he can prepare for the question but he's just rubbish as a play by play.

No more NFC East.

Sick of the f**king Eagles and the f**king Giants.

I partiall agree.... no more Giants and Eagles.... but show us some Skins and Cardinals!!!!

Legend, you can subscribe to the NFL Network on NFL.com (I think it is $34.95 US a year) and I am 95% confident you can download every game, as well as get all the other NFL Network content.

I was considering doing this next year, but considering it is my 24th in Jan, I just might ask for an upgraded Digital box so I can get HD.

Last year they showed a bunch of Rams games. This year there has been 0, or maybe 1 early game.
