And what sort of ute did you drive... you can't tell us you drove one and then not tell us anything about it (apart from it was old and dodgy)

Umm, not exactly sure what kind of ute it was. It was a Toyota that had clocked over 360,000 km. No power steering. Radio and cassette player didn't work. Fuel guage was also stuffed (at one stage I thought it may have been leaking fuel). It didn't have a tacho. I can't think of any distinguishing features. It totally lacked power on any kind of uphill incline.

I have a Ford Festiva that goes pretty well for what it is anyway!

I pay attention to important detail - in this case, I simply needed a ute that would make the round trip from Sydney to Newcastle. And it did

Thank you all. Thank you for that very gracious and warm Knights Forum welcome. I'm honored to be here tonight; I appreciate you all coming.

Tonight I want to take a few minutes to discuss a grave threat to peace, and Oswin's determination to lead the forum in confronting that threat.

The threat comes from Kaz. It arises directly from the Kaz regime's own actions -- its history of aggression, and its drive toward an arsenal of terror. Six months ago, as a condition for ending the Old Forum War, the Kaz regime was required to destroy its weapons of mass stupidity, to cease all development of such weapons, and to stop all support for stupidity groups. The Kaz regime has violated all of those obligations. It possesses and produces a barrell-full of dangerous weapons. It is seeking moronuclear weapons. It has given shelter and support to lunacy, and practices stupidity against its own people. The entire forum has witnessed Kaz's four-year history of defiance, deception and bad faith.

We also must never forget the most vivid events of recent history. In August 2003, The Forum felt its vulnerability -- even to threats that gather on the other side of the internet. We resolved then, and we are resolved today, to confront every threat, from any source, that could bring sudden terror and suffering to Oswin.

Back to the subject of driving utes. My step dad has a old Hilux ute and my BF has a old 4runner (yeah i know it's not a ute but it's a 4b). I love driving them. You can see everything and people seem to move out of your way (i mean the slow pepole driving in the right lane, they bug me sooo bad!) Utes, well, 4wd utes, are the coolest! Commodores utes are sweet too and all though it nearly kills me to say it, the latest persuit ute from ford is not bad either.

It's like driving around in a fish bowl!!! In the ute I hired it was pretty hard to check blind spots though, load or no load in the back. I had to make use of both side mirrors when I had the fridge in the back, so changing lanes from right to left was not terribly safe. That was a bit disconcerting because I am a stickler for blind spot checking thanks to my driving instructor (more than 10 years ago!)
