I'd be keen to see Metallica, that's about it really.

And now I looked at the lineup on the BDO site, I might've seen Blood Duster as well.

Just got home!!!! woot woot!!

everyone who says the lineup was sh!t sucks balls and probably are just too scared to get off their arse and see what real music is about, i didn't see a sh!te band all day.
Bands i saw were The Darkness, The Datsuns, Black eyed peas, gerling, 1200 techniques, muse, jet, the mars volta, the strokes, and Metallica.

as for metallica i thought i'd only be mildly entertained as i was a metal head about 6-7 years ago, but not really these days. however OMFG!!!! what a set. They played a full 2 hours and covered plenty of greats! harvester of sorrow, creeping death, sad but true, nothing else matters/master of puppets medley, one, enter sandman etc etc etc. not to mention their awesome professionalism in getting the crowd excited and some cracker pyro sh!t.

Well he had a ball...said metallica rocked, as did Jet. I'm still jealous. He even had the balls to ring me up at 11pm to try and get a lift...HAHA he's a funny boy!

Should've seen the Brisbane show last night. Unbelievable. 'Fight Fire With Fire' opened it up.

www.metontour.com should have pictures from the shows. Sydney tomorrow and Friday and Saturday. Cannot wait.

So I have finally well sort of recovered from my first big day out. I'm still a bit sore and sunburnt, and at one stage i feared for my life but all is good now. Seriously JET were definately my highlight, they were a big hit and should have rocked it up on the main stage. I was down the front about three people back and was really looking forward to being that close to the boys. The only reason i went down that close was all the other mosh pits on the saturday were extremely tame, I just underestimated their popularity. At one stage i was on the ground and getting stepped on, everyone just pushed to the stage from every direction and then they did this weird circle thing, so I eventually got out after screaming f*****G get out of my way.
Besides that little incident I had the best time as I said JET where awesome, so were Black Eyed peas and The Darkness. Basement Jaxx were totally cool as well. Was absolutely canning to get home by the end of the night and just sleep. Will def go back next year.
Also saw Billy Pedan having a great time at the Jet set, which was pretty cool.
Anyway did anyone else go? What did you think?

Jet were alright... but not all that exciting. Bad luck with the crush, should try a Metallica pit or two one day. :)

The Strokes were the lowlight. What a bunch of wankers.

Just been watching the Big Day In on Channel V...I loved at the drive-in as a band but what sort of incoherrent garbage was The Mars Volta playing? Jet sounded great - having Zia from the Dandy Warhols shaking her thing on stage with them looked cool...Muse sounded out of this world - one of the best live bands in the world at the moment. Metallica sounded great as well.

But i think the standout would have been The Flaming Lips - how much fun did that look?

Metallica are talking up the mars Volta something shocking of late. They hung out back stage and jammed together, then Metallica showed up at their own gig. I'm going to have to buy their album.

Muse were a great show on stage. I thought they'd just be another Pommy band, but they were really good. Another album to buy. They had terrible mic stands though. Did you notice the Strokes aren't on the BDI coverage? Their management had words and had it pulled, turns out they didn't want their band shown on TV drunk or stoned or whatever it was just standing there. Couldn't imagine why they'd want that. Hetfield from Metallica 'accidently' dropped one of their CDs back stage and trod on it.

Metallica are on now. A bit disappointing they'll only show one hour of the Metallica set plus those three songs yesterday while the Black Eyed Peas got their entire set shown last night and then got a 3 song highlight package today. What's the point there? Hopefully there will be a complete special in a while. I'll settle for the tape of the hour for now though. Hopefully they'll show 'Fade to Black' then the intro into 'Battery' today.

Just on the Peas, what's so good about them? Just 4 girating geniuss yelling at the audience. I pity anyone that paid just to see them.

TMV album blows. it's just self-indulgent crap. they arent half the band that ATD-I are.

I'm glad i recorded today instead of yesterday. An hour of Metallica, a fair bit of The Flaming Lips and Muse. Strokes didnt allow any footage due to them being shit basically (breaking a channel v camera wouldnt have helped). Not sure about the Dandy Warhols - heard the same varied reviews about their live show (seen them twice - think they are great live).

Black Eyed Peas are nothing special - sold out when the chick came into the band...

Ha! Forgot about the video camera incident. The wanker grabbed it off the cameraman on stage and held (while trying to sing) then decided to just drop it on the stage.

Dandy Warhols were never filmed in the first place. The screen just went a one camera shot from mid-range at the gig.

Metallica's treatment was shit. 45 minutes of a two hour set. Frantic, Bells and Sad were all shown yesterday as well. Channel V are a bunch of twats. Just show the entire sets. That's what people want. Not this replaying bullshit with the same endless promos of the kids at the BDO that didn't seem to be watching the bands at all.
