those last 3/4 games in 2002 he was woeful against Roosters x2 & warriors, too many times with a player in a great posistion for a pass he held on too it and got smashed

Yep, I'd agree. From a good ball playing forward he seemed to become a one dimensioned hit up artist. No fault of his own, I guess. Still, same thing happened with Knuckles.
Graham shouldn't find it hard to resurrect old skills and could be a danger man for us.

Yeah, he was a victim of the flat attack in 2003. I thought he went OK in 2002, considering the limitations placed on his style by the flat attack. Both Bird and Graham were belted on the end of Kimmorley's flat passes under Anderson.

Nick. In summary I don't think he would be in our squad this week if he was still around.
Very well said

he was woeful against Roosters x2
From memory he got a miracle offload away that led to a try for us in the final round game at Shark Park. But in general he didnt do enough.

Bird on the other hand is yet to shine and considered dog sh$t in my eyes
"Yet to shine" that's putting it nicely. "Dog sh$t in my eyes" that's putting it not so nicely

He was the blind play guru.
He contolled the attack down the short side & developed great combinations with all of his wingers.
In defense, the Cronulla short side used to be rock solid. Anderson quickly found out just how much he used to very quickly after he sacked him.
Saying anything other than he was stifled, restricted, hampered by a the combination of flat attack, Kimmorley & weakened player roster, is pretty ridiculous in my opinion.
He was & still is a quality player with very good skills & strength.
Would easily be in our squad.
