I've started a thread about him in the Tigers forum about how he has signed up with the Roosters next season. Here are some articles from the paper in the town he used to live in (Wagga Wagga)

The Daily Telegraph said:
Ex-Kangaroo lands Plum NRL contract
by Les Muir
GLAMOUR club Sydney Roosters has lured Wagga rugby league prodigy Nigel Plum away from NRL rivals Wests Tigers.

Plum, 21, signed a contract with the NRL premiers late last week and now intends giving up his day-to-day job as a plasterer to concentrate on football.

"I'll be training full-time from November, I want to give myself every opportunity," Plum said yesterday.

"I'll probably do some plastering one day a week, or maybe one day a fortnight just for some extra cash."

The decision to put his trade on hold is a measure of how determined the 21-year-old ex-Kangaroos forward is to make a success of an NRL career.

Plum left Wagga two years ago to join Wests and has already established himself as a second rower or lock with great potential.

By all accounts, Roosters coach Ricky Stuart has certainly been impressed.

When Plum's manager made it known the young forward was in the mood for a change of clubs, the Roosters were hot off the mark to sign him.

Speaking from Sydney yesterday, Plum said St.George-Illawarra had also shown interest in securing his services, but the Roosters got the verdict.

"Last Thursday they (the Roosters) came back with an offer and I accepted it," he said. "I was stoked. I really can't wait to get over there.

"They have a quality coaching staff and I believe there is an opportunity for me to play first grade.

"Playing first grade is what it is all about."

For Plum, two seasons with the Tigers has given him the confidence and grounding to make the most of his chances.

Ive obviously seen him play plenty of football, he's one of the hardest hitting tacklers I've seen in PL this year. He lines his opponent up and hits them with every millimetre of his shoulder, right in the torso, nothing high at all. He is techincally sound as a defender.

He used to play at Lock in Group 9. He was playing first grade for the Wagga Kangaroos there when he was 17 (I think).

He played for NSW country in 2002 (no age limit there, he was 19) in a game against Queensland country. NSW Country won 54-20, Plum scored a try in that game and played at Lock.

He then got selected in the NSW Country squad which toured France that year. The team played UTS Perpignan (Won 28-10), St.Gaudens (lost 15-30) and Toulouse (Won 46-16)

I reckon he'll be seriously looked at for first grade next year, even if its a handfull of games on the bench.

Tireless worker in defence and is a backup goalkicker as well. Knows how to hit a gap too.

This also means I can stop supporting the f**king magpies, but I'll now be cheering for the roosters. Damn!

I've always known you had potential Unit, I've shown a lot of faith in you so don't let me down. Does he have a nickname. Rooster supporters will invariably give him one if he doesn't !! All I can think of is Professor Plum, in the library with the gun !!

He happens to be a cousin of mine, he tackles like a madman, I saw him hurt some people last year with his one on one defence, and he doesn't tackle high either

Madunit...........you might as well forget about him.

If had come to Penrith he would have had a chance.

Unfortunately a young bloke from the country will be corrupted by those cafe latte sipping pretty boys down there in Bondi country. It wont be long before he is more worried about his hair and his sun tan than the way he is hitting in tackles. Its very very very sad. ;-)

Just as well Plum has come to the Roosters. He'll have a chance at making a grand final. Penrith's one GF a decade has come and gone, he would've been wasting his time going to the Panthers.
