There was a letter in the Newcastle Paper this morning tell the Knights management to hurry up and sign Wicks as he was just he player we need and Brian Smith might snap him up.... lmao
I remember reading that but I'm sure the letter was referring to Ben Cross not Danny Wicks.

8. Cross
9. De Gois
10. Simpson
11. Houston
12. Taia
13. Hilder

14. Fa'aoso
15. Tuimavave
16. Paterson
17. Taufua/Wicks

I think Tolar will struggle to get back in. His role of the efficient, tight prop around the ruck has been usurped by Taufua, who to me is a player with far more potential for improvement.

I still like the idea of Hilder at lock. And it was a close call between Houston and Paterson for a starting spot.
Yep unfortunate for Tolar, I think he will struggle also, a year off, and the other forwards all improving will make it very hard for him. I think Taufua is a walk up start in our 17, Wicks could be out for some time with that torn stomach muscle. Paterson still has to have a big question mark over him, lets hope he can get his problems sorted because as everyone knows he is a big prospect at his best.

I'd love to see Fa'aoso and Cross start in the front row. It would be like having the chief and butts back in the team leading the boys forward. Having a bloke like tolar on the bench could very well be an asset. When the team starts to tire, his mobility and his great ability to offload could make him a perfect bench player.

I must be missing something his mobility is terrible and I've always found him to be slow........ His too small for prop and two slow for a backrower for mine. I cant remember him ever making more then a 90 metres in a match.......

Tolar was nothing flash but he made up for his lack of size/speed with a neat step just before line. However when he mistimed his step he get smashed!

I suggest you look at some footage from last year when he played in the front row. His speed off the line and in more paticular his lateral movement made life very difficult for the opposition.
