NJ Sharks players heading to Wyong

The NJ Sharks website has a new article stating that two of their players, Phil Shipos and Greg "Loopy" Mininger, are headed to Oz to play a season with the Wyong Roos.

For Phil, this is his second season he will be playing in Australia....after playing for the Kyogle Turkeys last year.

Both players will therefore miss out on the Sharks early season games, but should return to close out the AMNRL season, bringing back valuable experience as they strive to capture the, thus far, elusive end-of-year honours!

Go Sharks...

As I have said in another thread, Wyong is the ideal place to learn the game for Americans. They have six open age teams - three in the central coast comp and three in the Newcastle comp. The third grade side in the CC comp would be total rubbish, and the first grade side in Newcastle would be a good side in the third highest stand comp in NSW - and probably in the top 10 comps in the World. 3 or 4 players at Wyong have plaed firstgrade in the NRL, and I think they have four players in the NSW country team - plenty of experience at the club, especially if Steve Carter plays another season - he has 15 years of NRL and ESL behind him.
