Can I give a -3 to Locke (as well as give him a bucket to catch the ball with and some velco so he can stick to tackles?). Golden boy had a shocker.

I think only two Warriors can really come out of that with the faintest resemblance of credit..

Rapira- 2
Taai- 1

Rapira Id say has been the best so far this year...Consistantly hits the ball at speed and dents the line

We can't be too hard on the boys. I had a feeling we were going to get hammered this weekend. We are missing 5 or 6 out of our starting team...3 or 4 them key players. Any team in the NRL missing those many players is going to suffer. Penrith on the other hand was fielding there top team without any injury concerns.

Lance needs to be playing Fullback...give Locke a rest when manu comes back and play Bill outside of Taters.

Too many errors, pretty simple really. We let Penrith have too much ball, and they used that ball really well. They put on a superb 80 minute effort, while the Warriors managed 15 minutes.

I don't understand why they dropped Packer for Ropati though. Ropati played a fairly good game from what I could tell, but it didn't make sense to drop Packer in favour of a back. Should have dropped Henderson really, he had a shocker.

I just don't think the balance in the side is right. I guess with 5 of the starting side out it makes things a bit difficult, but we're still trying to accommodate certain players in positions where we only need one guy i.e. Fullback, 5/8th, centre.

Well, that was dire. The Mt Smart shuffle started about 10 mins out from fulltime, which is fair enough.

A few whinges/points. 1) The Panthers have a big, imposing forward pack and we drop out a prop (Packer) to put a centre (Ropati) on the bench. Nice one. At one stage just before halftime we had Royal as our only specialist prop on the field, which is mud. And Latimore and Royal over Packer? Please. The former two are average journeymen at best who never put a dent in the line, and Packer at least brings some mongrel. But Ivan loves his journeymen, so they win out. Seriously, Latimore is terrible.
2) Further onto that, we use an interchange 7 minutes before halftime to swap a centre for a centre. Why? Absolute waste of time. Ropati should have started, or he was wasting a bench spot. 3) The Warriors got booed at halftime by one section of the crowd. Those people are pathetic. If they were that upset, they should have jogged on home. One average 40m and they think they deserve to boo them. 4) Half our cap was sitting just to my left in the stands. With those guys back, we have the makings of a good side. 5) Sam Rapira is an absolute star. He was our best again today by miles.

3-Rapira
2- Ta'ai
1- Maloney

You don't agree?

Answer me one thing then - do you think it helped? Do you think the players thought 'ooh they're booing us, we better shape up'? Nah, doubt it. It probably worsened their mood, if anything.

If a team doesn't put in over a period of time, then maybe they deserved to be booed (ala Eels after the Raiders match). But a side which has outstripped expectations this season and had one poor half (not lazy, uninterested or anything else, just poor) does not.

So yep, pathetic. We should be better than that.

Save them for the refs, they were absolutely diabolical. There should be a border restriction on Suttor so he is never allowed in the country. Absolute weasel.

:lol:Ironic-I've booked a time for sky to come in next week and hook it up. After this week I'm having second thoughts. I only caught snippets on the radio in the car as we were out...but what I heard sounded terrible.
I guess you can say we're injury depleted, but from what I was hearing our defence at times was wet paper bag stuff. Just so disappointing.
After such a good start to the year, and pleasant surprises of away wins, playing at home is fast becoming 'fortress of ankle holders.' Woeful.

Guys- If you're reading this-I'm trying to get as many rugby heads as I can watching you...games like this are embarrassing and not helping the cause!!!

No points for anyone. Nor does the ref get any blame when the guys are having shockers.

Both refs were bad, but did they lose the Warriors the match? No.
Get over it.

If the crowd feel the team isn't putting in they are entitled to boo - probably at management as much as the players.

1 from 3 at Mt Smart and you think they have outstripped expectations? Maybe your sights are set too low.

Has anything changed? Not on the evidence so far. Still inconsistent as hell.

3. Brown.
2. Rapira.
1. Lillyman.

Heremaia > Henderson
Moon > Ropati
McKinnon sucks.

I don't remember saying the refs lost us the match. Probably because I didn't. I'm not blaming them, I said they were crap. They were. And so were we.

Was 3 from 5, and inside the top-eight, outstripping expectations with so many guys out and 3 of those matches away? Yes, yes it was. Okay, our home record is pretty poor so far. But we'll agree to disagree on the booing, as I said it wasn't because they weren't putting in - they were just poor.

they sure didn't look like they were putting in, especially in the first half.

and the refereeing was horrid, but even if we'd got the calls we should have got we'd have still been thrashed.

horrendous.

on the refs, we got penalised for farting in the play the ball in the first half and in the second half they put their whistles in their pockets.

anyway yes it was a shocker, at the game i assumed Packer must have been injured but if he was dropped that is just plain dumb. Bropati on the bench is a waste of space. If he's fit he should have started Moon to 5/8 Lance to F/B and McKinnon goneski.

If we can afford to drop Packer then it should be Locke's turn next week.

Kev had a very bad day handling. he missed a couple of catches he is usually pretty safe under.

Tate was so pissed off with the team and the ref, I thought he was going to blow a foofoo valve..

Here's my 3-2-1 for "D-O-D" - Dud of the Day

3. McKinnnon - has really lost his pace, has no right whatsoever make d-h runs, crap under the bomb - time he should go
2. Locke - the kid couldnt get anything right today
1. Hohaia - I'm convinced now he's not even a half's a-hole and either they stick him at fullback or put him on the bench.

When Nobby has a bad game, he has an absolute shocker. He will be beating himself up really badly now.
