He works when in a proper prop rotation.

I thought the bench tonight would work but outside of Ava all the impact was basically zero.

Blair works off others hard work, it is the player he is so we need to play to that strength.

Our entire defensive line was shot at the end and he got caught out a few times.

2014 is something to look forward to

Isaac Luke had a number of our forwards struggling in defence,Blair had a bad miss on him where as Keith struggled to get up and back in the line several times also.

I thought he actually had a decent game, until the last 10.

I watched him closely during the last 20 and he was avoiding the footy. He was hanging out behind the ruck for three consecutive sets when we had the pill. This allowed him to chase down that break (he was conveniently loitering nearby). Nevertheless there is simply no way WT can succeed next season having such a highly paid bludger on its books.

He's likely paid 10 times Ava's salary but is 1/10th as effective.

no other club is going to pay $ for this waste of space, & unless there's a get out clause in his contract or you can sack him, you're stuck with this lemon.

One extremely expensive lemon.

Blair passed it to Galloway from a drop out with no defender in sight 'giving' Keith the hitup.
Thats not the kind of front rower I want in the team.

I noticed that as well. thought it was weak, but to his credit - he did take the second hit up.

Bah looks like the type of player that needs a rocket up his ass every week. Maybe thats why he was so good in Melbourne.. and his fight with Stewart gave him a bit of a bad boy tag.

Now the kid has no fight.

Blair's still dissapointing for his price tag but at prop he has been mainly ok. It would have helped if you were confident of givingguys like bell and spence more then 15 minutes on the park...we will have a lot more depth next year and shouldnt have to resort to guys of their calibre.

So impressed with Ava's progression in 2013. He is a massive unit and goes hard, with another off season under his belt and a bit more confidence/experience I think he will be a real weapon in 2014.

A prop rotation of Galloway/woods/Taupau/Ava will be awesome, plenty of go forward, size and offloads there

Bad miss tackle yes, but that can happen to anyone when on the back foot like we were all 2nd half.

Agree with the bench / prop rotation being the cause, still don't rate him though.

Underperforming Wests Tigers big man Adam Blair told to look for another club

ADAM Blair's future at the Wests Tigers is again under the spotlight with the besieged club shopping the $600,000 a year player to rival clubs.

With the Tiger’s horror season over after last night’s match against the Cowboys in North Queensland, the Sunday Telegraph can reveal two interstate clubs have been approached about the possibility of signing Blair.

Blair has been the source of constant speculation since being recruited from premiership powerhouse the Storm with the 106kg forward widely criticised for failing to live up to his price tag.

Among those to slam the Kiwi international was Gordon Tallis, who accused Blair of not trying after a Tiger’s capitulation to the Sharks.

Blair has been linked to several rival clubs since joining the Tigers in 2012 and his future at Leichardt beyond this year is again in doubt with sections of the divided club looking to find him a new home.

The prospect of Blair being released by the club was first raised in May when Blair was linked to a Melbourne return with club sources confirming they would not stand in his way.

Blair is two years into a four-year contract reported to be worth as much as $600,000 a year.

Blair’s high salary and failure to stop the Wests Tigers from finishing the season only in front of the wooden spoon winning Eels again has the club considering his future in the black of gold.

The ball however is firmly in Blair’s court with the premiership-winning player having his four-year deal as a safety net.

While his form at the start of the year had him touted as one of the game’s worst ever signings, Blair, to his credit, has improved in the second half of the season with a switch from the edge to the middle prompting an increased workload.

Not much point moving him on if they have to pay $300k a year for him to play elsewhere, and surely no other club will pay more than half of what he is currently on.

Geez... $600k.

It's a more scandalous waste of money than Sandow.

Thanks Shines & Humpty

Ideally move him on but its not going to happen on that money. 2 more years and then he is gone.

Suggestion: Offer to payout Sheens contract in full if the new club he's coaching takes over Blair's contract at no cost to us.

Surely the Eels will take him for $700 000.

He'll probably end up at the Sharks for $150 000.

:?

Why would Sheen's new club care whether Sheens gets paid out his full contract from the Tigers?
