Its been mentioned in a few threads already - but I thought I'd make up an entirely new thread to emphasise it


We all know the ongoing joke that is RLW player poll and how it names Brian as the coach no one wants to play for and Parra as the club no one wnats to go to.

AND we have all heard/read the bitching and moaning in the media and on this forum about our coach and our retention policy.


Well I'd just like to say F*CK THE LOT OF YOU who went on the witch hunt trying to discredit our club!


We have confirmed the signings of: Riddell and Tahu .... and it seems EVERYONE believes Morrison is sign sealed and delivered....add to that Chad Robinson who is a solid worker from the bench and Paul Stringer who may be a bit of a risk but could be a huge acquisition.

We have acquired 3 of the top 5 players who have switched clubs this season....all guys who have played rep footy: Tahu (Country, NSW, Aust), Riddell (City), Morrison (Country).

IF the NRL players dislike our club and coach so much then how the hell can we acquire some of the best talent available?

I believe our OWN supporters should show a bit more faith in our club and treat the RLW player poll for what it is....a joke....how such a small cross section of players, who actually have nothing to base their answers on, can be treated as a anything substantiated is beyond me.

The players have showed that they like being coached by Smith if anything.

Would I be right in saying Smith has coached Tahu and Morrison in country origin? And now are coming back for more coaching from Smith?

Also was it last year when Smith polled highly in both categories "Best Coach" and "Worst Coach"??

And Arthur Kitinas also polled in the Worst coach category too, and at that stage he was 1 from 1 in his NRL coaching career :lol:

No one could match our money, Strider. I know you'd sign Smithy for life, and stuff the results, but what did Easts pay for Roberts and Firman? Orford didn't think too long before knocking us back either. And Tahu would have probably gone to Manly had we not kicked in more $ at the last minute. Tahu and Morrison took a long time to make up their minds.

I'm rapt we got 'em. However, it's not so much a ringing endorsement of Brian SMith as it is for cash.

we were forced to pay over-the-odds for players to compensate for the fact that brian smith is our coach....and that will come back to haunt us when hindmarsh goes to renegotiate his contract in twelve months or whenever he is up for renewal!

we are paying about 25-50% above market value to compensate for our coach!

No, we are paying over the market value because of poor performances....sure some of that can be blamed on the coach, but plenty has to go on the players shoulders and the injuries we've had.

No, I want Parra to be a premiership contender.....thats why I am very pleased we offered a little more to secure good quality players that will help us improve.


I just don't put the ENTIRE blame on one person's shoulders.

And ex Smith coached players have dissipated to Easts (J Cayless, Crouch) Canterbury (Bobcat, Tonga), Canberra (Drew, Clinton, I Hindy), Melboring (Kidwell, McFadden), Manly (half their team) NZ (PJ and Tooks), Brisbane (Stupid), Penrith (Clinton), Wests (Moods and Hodgeson), Newy (S Witt). So there's a lot on info out there on Smith at a lot of clubs.

Another point, in the last decade, only 2 players have sat out a season - both Smith coached players.

Don't you find it odd that we have signed players from the 3 clubs not mentioned (SDtringer from Souths, Pig from Saints, and Morrison from NQ), and only gottahu because we were the highest bidder?

If only you suppiorted Parra as keenly as you support Brian SMith!

Some people are very good at drawing upon stats to talior to an argument they are pushing.

Gould is one, Hadley too and Misty Bee isn't bad either.
