The Swans have been given precedence over an NRL finals in the past at ANZ Stadium as well

As much as i'd have loved the extra day to prepare if we need it, it all comes down who booked the venue first and it wasn't us.

More crazy jokes from the NRL.

The game should really be on a Sunday. Stuff the preparation side of it.

You can't have one team playing on Friday and the other playing 2 days later on the Sunday. You might not give a crap if your team has much less prep for the GF over your opponent, but if my team were to make it i'd want it to be as even playing field as possible as i'm sure the vast majority of the competing teams and fans of those teams would want as well.

Who are you trying to cater for? Obviously not for the competing teams (who are the most important) if you say stuff the preparation side of it.

Do what they did last year???

One final on a Saturday night and one on Sunday.

It wasn't the end of the world.

The Victory have Telstra Dome booked on the Sunday, so the Storm would still be stuck with the Saturday night slot anyway.

Not long then the Dome can sling their hook anyway! I presume the new stadium will be big enough for finals to be held there?

Gotta say it - the out of towners whined like Pommies to get home team finals series. And they can't even guarantee to f**king ground!!!! The Broncos have potential problems with soccer and Yawnion.

League should ALWAYS have been played at the SFS in the last 2 weeks.

Why doesnt the NRL have a contingency plan and book the grounds a year out on spec. You would only really have to book the multi purpose venues

Suncorp
TD
ANZ

The others we would get anyway..

Not that hard David

I only care because it is a waste of time and money.

This has nothing to do with the Storm's success on the field.

I spend a lot of time in Melbourne and anything other than AFL does not rate a mention. The scores aren't on the news, hardly in the papers at all and completely ignored on TV and radio. Even SEN doesn't cover RL or rugby - and it has a lot of time to fill. Go into any pub, any workplace and mention league - you'll get blank stares at best.

Victoria, outside Melbourne, is even more of a wasteland for any sports other than AFL or cricket.

League in Melbourne - who cares?
