Gary Moore was in Skid Row? I must dispute this claim. I've followed GM for most of his career and never once have I come across anything to suggest he was a member of Skid Row.

Colonel Eel, do you have proof of this? If I'm wrong, I'll happily stand corrected, but I don't believe I am.

On a more personal note, I preferred GM before he turned into a blues singer/guitarist.

Check out albums like Corridors Of Power, Run For Cover and Victims Of The Future.

He was in a band called Skid Row. Not the one with the poodle hair and shit songs though.

Wrong Skid Row EG.

http://www.gary-moore.com/Biography/biography.html

Gary's first band of note, the power trio Skid Row, secured a record deal with the CBS label in 1970. By this time, Gary had moved to Dublin, and befriended Phil Lynott, who filled the vocal role with Skid Row until shortly before the CBS deal was signed. Gary cut three albums with the band, and toured the USA supporting The Allman Brothers Band, and Mountain amongst others, before he split Skid Row to embark on a solo career.

Wow, I'm really surprised he got a mention here. I love his blues stuff - in fact it was the first CD I ever bought (I was 18 at the time). I get the impression from what Evilgrowler said, that Gary Moore has re-invented himself. I'm not familiar with the other stuff. Pre or post blues?

Can I suggest having a look at the official website. It will tell you his history.

If you can find it - most good record shops can probably order it at least see if you can get his album Back on the Streets - especially for a song called Parisienne Walkways.

The other one to chase is Corridors of Power.

he went from hard rock/heavy metal to blues. Not my favourite genre, but he is still a superb artist.

He always was blues however his guitar skills lead him from a lot of different bands.

Try "Blues for Greeny" for a really good mellow album.

I can't believe, for the number of so-called Queen fans on this board, that Queen are barely qualifying for the top 64 at the moment...

you can tell a lot about a person by the music he likes

Kula Shaker, you and I have alot in common, except for the Poo Fighters.

Insert Led Zeppelin

Not to many ppl are RATM fans, and Tom Morello did not get a mention in the guitarist thread, but he is very much like Jimmi with the sounds that he can get out of a guitar.

He? Hmm ;-)

RATM are the shite. I haven't posted in the Guitarist thread yet but Morello is definately one of my faves, especially in Killing In The Name. Combining Morello and Chris Cornell was pure genius - Cornell has that powerfully chilling voice, and Morello likewise with the guitar. His playing style is so individual and unique for modern music.

I'm not really a fan of Led Zeppelin, I haven't heard them much. Probably because I haven't been around long enough to appreciate their music.
