This will probably fail as well.
This new complex will be on a major road, and bring with it more traffic. Three towers in that spot would also stand out like dogs balls and be an eyesore. There's no other buildings of that height in the area. There's no point putting a Woolies in there, as there is one not too far up the road in Balmain, plus another one a bit further the other way in Leichhardt (not to mention the IGA in Rozelle and the Harris Farm in Drummoyne).
I can't see the residents of the area ( of which I am one) getting on board with this.
