I think Crown Resorts is a bunnies sponsor .... resorts and casinos are separate? 🤔 ... maybe gambling is ok, just not on sports

Laundry hotels and Canterbury leagues with the dogs as well.

Just a PR stunt i feel.

Its pretty hypocritical when those above for the Dogs and crown resorts for souths who sponsor and fund the clubs from mostly money from pokies. To then big note themselves about this.

I haven’t looked, but I doubt it. Crown are in the doldrums with the regulators are are subject to a takeover bid from Blackstone.

It’s a good thing that we’re not backed by a casino. 🥸

An incredible 70 per cent of NRL bosses believe clubs are rorting the salary cap through unreported third-party deals.

Of the 23 club CEOs and chairmen that responded to The Sydney Morning Herald's anonymous poll, 16 said clubs are cheating the system.

More than $4 million in third party deals were registered in 2021, although that's down from $8.2 million in 2017. While COVID-19 could account for some of the drop, rules around those deals were tightened after Parramatta was punished in 2016 for floating the salary cap.

"The NRL have done a good job cleaning up a lot of the confusion and irregularities around third-party agreements," one club boss said, speaking anonymously.

"But many clubs believe that there are still instances where a club will operate outside the TPA rules to secure income for a player. That sort of assistance can make a big difference in signing or keeping a player."

Interesting thread. It seems that nearly everyone’s sledge gets a mention.

I don’t think that description is quite right. At least not in sport like leeg. Or maybe it is apt for leeg. Sure Moses may dominate inferior opponents (which last year seem to include Scums so go figure) but it’s not like he necessarily plays better or worse against any given opposition. The opponents are just better or worse themselves. So it’s a dumb insult that really has little to do with the player being insulted.
The term really only works in cricket where the batsmen is bullying because of the favourable track. Got little to do with the opposition. And it’s not really like we can call Moses a wet or dry track bully.

They said in the Mobbs, Rothfield, Carayannis podcast that the two ladies matches at CBA last Sunday were trialling the chip-in-the-ball thingy (refer tennis) for forward passes. No calls made during the matches at this stage, but they are trialling the tech.

^^^the reason it was so special is because its so rare. If a league crowd did that you could guarantee some merkin would start throwing hands somewhere and it would turn into a riot.
