It does reinforce the idea that the players are disgruntled with the governing body. 'Raising awareness' so to speak. Don't kid yourselves, there are plenty of deadshits who will side with the players over the NRL, even if player actions hurt the game.

There's plenty of Eels-supporting merkins who were happy when insiders snitched on our salary cap shenanigans, just because they didn't like the board. Now they're all asking why we can't compete with other clubs for TPAs.

For most people, their decisions about who is in the wrong comes down to which side they've already picked.
