Personally I think he has been a highly effective brutal dictator. Possibly one of the best.

Off the top of my head ...

Putin has promoted a homophobic society with gays frequently being arrested. Gays were warned not to attend the recent world cup.

His political opponents also get arrested frequently.

He has encouraged systematic sports doping across multiple sports.

He shot down MH17 (accidentally or not) and took no ownership.

He took Crimea by force so he could ensure his navy has access to the Mediterranean. Laughable considering his comments in 2008 about Kosovo. In fact his justification mirrors the Albanian soft border excuses. Hypocrisy ++

On top of all this, Time Magazine suggested that this former KGB agent is possibly now the richest man in the world. What the actual f**k.

Recently he sent those Agents to the UK to assinate former soviets and clumsily killed civilians with nerve agents.

He meddled in the USA elections and somehow suffered zero consequences. Pee tape maybe.

So IMHO he is a tyrant and a thief.

One of the better modern day ones, probably because he is still restrained to keeping up an appearance of some form of democracy.

But to favour a man such as Putin over our leaders here is f**king madness.
