Word on the street is that, with Asahi buying CUB, they will initiate a price war against Kirin, who own Lion, as they are bitter rivals back in Japan.

If true, that's 90% of the beer market, so maybe that will balance out against the coming increase.

It may cancel it out somewhat but when the increase is government driven it becomes difficult.

Margins at the major big box stores are already almost non-existent on beer.
