But in all seriousness, body doubles aren't that big of a deal. Plenty of politicians have them.

I’m not a scientist either, but I’m very close to one. They say yes they do. Rigor mortis causes strain around places like the nose and once that’s passed the easing of that strain, coupled with gravity and the rest of the body giving up, they’ll droop. Happens around the ear structure too, but she concedes those ears look different, but also points out that’s probably because they are left and right

Anyways, the ear changes have nothing to do with gravity, which would pull everything down. The differences in those ears go every which way.

As for the left/right thing, here's another picture:

It's pretty clear that the reason for the change in features is that when the host dies, the lizard man has to leave the body, else he dies.

Now he can't do it with all those people around, so will wait until the body is in the morgue, but in the meantime it takes a very concerted effort to remain hidden. Thus despite his strength of will, we are seeing signs of the lizard man emerging.

Note how the nose is becoming more rounded, and the outer parts of the ear less clearly defined, exactly as one would expect when transitioning back to lizard form.
