I know someone who got one of those unsolicited textas (thanks ricky) to vote yes
They were not even gonna bother voting, but now they are voting no because they are shitted off their phone number was leaked to some group
Rubbish ... there are people in the world who dont love social media and giving all their private details to the world - and being cold called/contacted is very disturbing to them ... i know thats very different to the new age, "look at me, look at me" way of the world, but everyone is entitled to their own wayThat kind of pettiness is absolutely pathetic IMO. It just makes zero sense and, for mine, smacks of a homophobe desperate to find an excuse to cling to that they can use when people call them on their homophobia. If they are that easily swayed then there are underlying reasons.
No offence to yourself obviously.
Ive got my nose out of joint cos no f**ker has sent me a bloody text .... so im gonna vote "undecided" just to piss em all offI got a love is love txt plus an ok to say no txt.
I hope he hadnt spent the last 18 months at the club playing kenoI'll be stunned if this bloke hasn't pissed his winnings up the wall within 12 months.

TRUCKIE Frank Weis has more than a million reasons to smile after winning a massive Keno jackpot which will save his house.
The 59-year-old was on the brink of selling his Park Ridge home after spending the past 18 months off work when he was injured in a truck accident – and now he has pocketed a $1.69 million.
“It’s just unbelievable,” he told The Sunday Mail yesterday.
“We’re still scratching our heads over it.”
Mr Weis said the last 18 months had been a “hell of a struggle”, but he will now be able to save his home.
“Things weren’t picking up and it was just a disaster everywhere,” he said.

I would say the person i am referring to would be more inclinded to vote no if it was mandatory, but the whole point is they were in the "dont really care" basket and the bullshit spamming tactics have triggered the complete opposite response from the intention ... shooting yourself in the foot
I reckon all that needed to happen to get a vast yes majority was to sit back, keep being polite and not do much .... but the idiot faction on the yes side have started kicking into gear and i think its gonna do damage to the result
Im not here to argue if its right or wrong .... point is it was a dumb tactic that will likely spur more opponents into action than otherwiseIt's simply not a reasonable reaction.
It's like going over and kicking your neighbour because he's Indian and some bloke from an Indian call centre rang you up at dinner.
I just reckon voting to discriminate against a group of people because you're irritated by a text message us unbelievably petty and sad.

I have serious doubts that is the case ... harvetsing people's contacts is big business these daysFWIW, nobody got anybody's private number. They apparently sent texts to randomly generated numbers within the range of Aus mobile numbers. If this is true, I wonder how many kids got the text.
My wife and I got the text within minutes of each other, that is fairly coincidental if randomly generated. It didn't want to make me vote no but bazals rant about it being petty and sad to vote no because of a text message did
Fanbase is a troll I doubt he supports the eels reallyYet you have no problem supporting the Eels even though Fanbase does too?
When I was in India, I spent some time ringing random local numbers and telling them I was from the Windows Help Service. Good evening, sir, my name is Bharav (yes, it really is)......
